Stuck in a Funk

Hey, everyone. I hope that everyone is having an amazing second, minute, hour, day, month and year. Today I thought that I would come back to blogging with a post about being in a funk and way to get out of it.

If you don't know what I mean by funk, I mean just being down and out. Sometimes things are not going your way. You can't seem to caught a break. Like missing the bus which made you late for work. Or you didn't get the job that you really wanted. Or your favorite restaurant is closing (RIP Swiss Shabu). Then you get into the mood that is sometimes hard to get out of.  I have been having my moments in these past few months. Looking for a job, going on interviews, sending out resumes, trying to be creative, trying to make time for the people I love.

Now it is the Holiday season and Christmas is literally next Sunday, people are running all over the place trying to get gifts people, outfits for parties, tickets to go back home to see family, and so much more.

The only thing that you want to do is sleep but sleep is not going to do anything but make my mood disappear until I wake up. So here are some things that help me get out of that funk.

1. Go for a walk

For me, smelling the fresh air and getting to see what is happening outside my door, opens my mind. It helps me get out of my mind and thoughts and direct towards something different.

2. Listen to some music

GIRLLLLLLLLLLLL. I love listening to music, it help when I am in a funk. It gets me so pumped up and ready for what is next to come. I love a good twerk twerk in the afternoon. YOU KNOWWW. Music can take you to some many different places.

3. Do something creative

Even though I don't post that much on Instagram, my blog or Youtube, I try to do creative things to get my mind to moves. I want to post more and upload videos more for you guys. Some things I do is take picture when I leave work because the city is so beautiful at night. Also, I love my mind mood boards on Microsoft PowerPoint with things trends that I am loving or outfits that I want to wear.

Here is an example of doing something creative. I was so bored of my white walls that I decide to print out photos of things that I love (places, people, food, bags, shoes, men. lol) P.S I did recycle all of the extra pieces OKEYYY)

5. Start a project that you haven't finished

One way to get yourself motived is to start something you haven't finished yet. They could be anyone from painting your room, finishing a TV series, or that book that you only got to Chapter 4 in. Obviously, everything is going to take time. When you finish that project, you feel accomplished.

6. Meet up with some friends

Meeting up with the people that you love will get you out of funk really quick. You are able to talk out your feelings and can have someone jus sit there in LISTEN to what you have to say. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some good advice to.

7. Watching something inspiring

There are some days where I don't want to do anything and just lay, like the fat honey bun I am. So before it gets to the extra, I go on Youtube and watch some of my favorite videos of people that inspire me. One of them is Garance Dore. She is a gorgeous talented fashion lifestyle blogger that had a video series called Pardon my French. She talks all things fashion, life, love, food #YouNameIt.

8. Eat your favorite meal

I know eating your feelings is not the way of handling things but sometimes you just want to have a nice snack or meal. Go to our favorite restaurant to get your favorite dish. Hell, get yourself a nice little drinky drink. It makes all of the worries drifted away.

9. Talk to your parents

I love talking to my parents about things that are on my mind for a simple reason is that they have been through it. Your parents have LIVEDDDDDDDD hunty so that are going to have some wise words for you (hopefully). I know as young people we think our parents don;t know anything and we KNOW EVERYTHING but we don't.

I hope that everyone is having an amazing holiday season. Christmas is literally a week away. Drink lots of hot chocolate, eat lots of cookies, and ...

Love yo'self, Respect yo'self, Treat yo'self
